Pick a Lot, Pick a Plan, start building….not exactly.  When envisioning your dream home, you see your pefectly designed house on the lot, landscaped, in the perfect setting.  But to get to that point, you must plan.  Either starting with the land, and design the home for the lay, or start with your plan, and find the lot that suits its design. 

On the simple side, if you want a walk-out basement at the rear of the home, then you must locate a lot with some slope, front to rear.  If you want a level yard, then you may want a design that has height or is sprawling.   If your plan has multiple levels, then you may want to find a lot that can accomodate that design from left to right or vice versa.  Many things to take into consideration.

When designing you home, or picking a lot, consult your builder to see what their recommendations are as to how your final package will be presented.
